The games comes with 144 lettered tiles, where each player gets to pick a quantity from the pile; then play begins as soon as someone declares “split”!

Banana-gram’s a fun, fast paced word game, playable, with simple rules, yet the game is complex enough to hold the interest of the deepest word-game fanatic.

RULES:

To start the game, you simply unzip the Bananagrams bag (as if that needs special mention!) and you dump the letters out onto any flat surface, though a table will do. You then flip all of the 144 tiles face-side down.

They are all pushed together into a "bunch".

Next, each player draws a quantity of tiles depending on the number of people playing the game.
For 2-4 people, 21 tiles each.
For five or six players, 15 tiles each.
For seven or eight players, have each player draw 11 tiles.

As soon as all the players have drawn their requisite number of letters, some player, any player, shouts, "Split!" signaling for the players to begin flipping letters and creating words.

The words created must connect and intersect in a manner similar to a crossword or scrabble. When a player uses up all of his or her letters, he or she states, "Peel!" then all the players must draw another letter.

Players can rearrange their letters as often as they like, even letters they have already placed. (If you draw a "Q" and you need a "U" that is in the middle of another word, it can be pulled out as long as the resulting combinations ultimately form words.)

If a letter is drawn that seems impossible to place, a player may call out "Dump!" and exchange this letter for three others. No other player should take a tile on a dump.

Play goes on until there are less tiles in the bunch than there players. The first person to use all of his or her remaining letters says, rather excitedly, "Bananas!"

This person will be crowned the winner of the "hand" if all of their words check out!

All of the other players then inspect the "winning" hand. Each word is scrutinized for legality. A legal word is one found in an official dictionary (players can agreed upon the volume in advance). There is no penalty for challenging a player’s word.

If an illegal word is found in the played "hand", that player is declared a "rotten banana" and is out of the hand. His tiles are returned to the bunch, and play is resumed as before.

Great distraction when you need to cook

We purchased this for our daughter when she was about 2 months old. It was GREAT! She is almost 3 years old now and still plays with the station (minus the movable seat). I especially loved this when I needed to cook dinner. I would put her in it about 5 feet from me while I cooked. She enjoyed every second in it. Mostly the music piano. The Leapster Learning Game System is a handheld electronic learning system for young kids, and is designed to look similar to a gameboy or other handheld video game toys.

The similarities end there, this baby is a great size for little hands and sturdy enough to take the beating it receives from little ones who love playing with it.

Whilst the console comes in multiple colors, our favorite was the Pink console, seen here in the pic.

The Game system comes standard with a small 4X4 inch color backlit display that is actually pretty darn sharp, and can be adjusted for light/dark so that the screen is viewable in a variety of lighting!
